Looking After Your Feet this Summer

December 09, 2015 at 3:50 PM

Summer can be pretty tough on your feet! A combination of warmer, drier weather and wearing jandals and bare feet more often can lead to the following common summer foot complaints...

  • Athlete's Foot - a fungal infection of the feet, can be itchy and flaky on the soles of the feet and itchy painful and macerated between the toes.

  • Cracked Heels - not just confined to the heels, this is an unsightly and sometimes painful problem that, if left untreated, can lead to infections.

  • Sports Injuries - as the weather warms up, we all shed our layers and head outside. Naturally, being more active means we are more susceptible to injuries of the feet and legs.

  • Cuts and Scrapes - the position of the feet makes them susceptible to being cut, but it also means those cuts come into contact with a lot of bacteria!
